Are you new to the branding process or working with a designer and wondering what the process is like?

We know that you are busy as an entrepreneur, which is why we have streamlined our design process to have clear milestones to ensure a high-end, seamless experience.

Our tried and tested process has been refined over the years so you can have confidence and clarity at every stage.

Here is a breakdown of our process, broken into steps:

Enquiry

First, you’ll make an enquiry via our contact form here. This is a simple form with a few questions to begin, the more detail you provide the more prepared we will be for our Discovery Call.

Discovery Call

Once you’ve completed our contact form, you’ll receive an email with information to book a Free Discovery Call. This is so we can learn more about your business, what you hope to achieve and your goals for the future.

A few questions we’ll cover are:

  • What are your goals for your brand?
  • What motivated you to start your business?
  • What does success look like to you?

We also chat about different package options, project timelines and deliverables so we can best determine a solution to fit your unique needs.

Proposal

After our Discovery Call, we’ll have a better understanding of your project and requirements to send through a detailed custom proposal. Your custom proposal will entail specifics about your project, deliverables, timelines, payment options and how your project will run.

We like to include a few different package options that will transform your brand at varying budgets and timelines. These packages are flexible and can be refined to be exactly what you’re looking for.

Onboarding

Once you’ve read through your proposal and selected a package that suits you, it’s time to start! To officially book in your project, we request a 50% deposit to secure your spot in our timeline and a returned signed contract.

With this step complete, we’ll then send through all of your information for your project including your Brand and/or Discovery Strategy pre-session questionnaire. You’ll also receive booking options for the session.

Brand Strategy/Discovery

This is where it all begins, and the magic really happens!

Before the session we’ll send through your questionnaire to help prepare you and ensure we’re on the same page. It will give you insight into the type of questions we’ll cover to clearly define a strategic direction for your brand.

We’ll go over your session via Zoom or a call, this session typically goes for 1 hour. We dive deep into your strategy cover aspects like your target audience, goals, competition, along with more targeted design questions (See What is Brand Strategy for more details). During the session we’ll be taking notes that will be included in your final brand files for reference.

Once we’ve uncovered all the aspects of your brand, it’s our turn to research, plan and develop your brand strategy guidebook that will be your roadmap for your business. This can be used to create your marketing campaigns, develop products, visual styles and more. You’ll be able to refence your brand strategy guidebook for years to come to keep your brand consistent and cohesive. For our Mini Brand Discovery package, you’ll receive a mini version that includes a brand direction and visual mood board.

Your Brand Strategy guide will include all the questions we cover along with a detailed mood board with typography inspiration, colour palettes and visual aesthetics suggestions.

Identity Design

Now it’s time for the fun part! Once you’ve approved the visual direction and we’ve completed all the research, discovery and strategy behind your brand, we can start creating the visual identity for your brand!

We believe in presenting concepts that are conceptual and based on strategy first. We present you with a detailed presentation and rationale that outlines the logo variations, colours, fonts as well as digital mock-ups to help you envision your brand in real life.

Upon reviewal of your presentation, we offer three rounds of changes to refine any elements to convey a unique brand. With the first step of our in-depth strategy session completed prior, we find that most of our clients have very few changes and go with the first concept! Once your brand identity is approved, we move on to other collateral like business cards, Brand Guidelines and website (if selected).

Wrap up

Upon approval of all items and the final instalment paid, we’ll prepare all your brand files in an organised Dropbox folder along with all the materials we’ve created together to set you up for a successful brand launch. This typically includes:

  • Brand Strategy session notes
  • Brand Strategy Guidebook (If selected)
  • Brand Guidelines Document or Mini Style Guide
  • Any collateral pieces (such as business cards, socials etc)
  • File usage guide
  • Print-ready files
